Student Art and Research

Studio art majors have the opportunity to learn a wide variety of two and three-dimensional media in the department. Drawing form their own areas of expertise, the faculty offer a variety of courses such as painting, drawing, sculpture, bookbinding, printmaking, photography and graphic design.  A studio major's capstone experience is the exhibition of their work in the Cornell Fine Arts Museum their senior year. We invite you to visit the virtual student art gallery to see samples of work from students at different stages in the studio major.

Each Summer, interested studio majors have the opportunity to create large-scale collaborative art projects with Central Florida community partners through the Student-Faculty Research Program and the Office of Community Engagement. To find out more, visit the Collaborative Community Art website or contact Prof. Rachel Simmons at rsimmons@rollins.edu.

Art History majors develop independent research projects under the guidance of one or more art history faculty. These projects culminate in a written paper on a subject chosen by the student.
