DANIELL ROBERTSON NAMED ALL-AMERICAN FOR THIRD TIME

Three Tars named to All-South Region team

Rollins senior soccer player Daniell Robertson became the College's first three-time All-America honoree as he was named to the 2005 NSCAA/adidas Men's Division II All-America third team on Thursday. The Stockton-on-Tees native and team captain recorded three penalty kick goals and six assists for a total of 12 points in 15 games, leading the Tars to a 10-5-0 finish.

As a sophomore in 2003, Robertson was named to the All-America third team and in 2004 received All-America first team honors after leading the Tars to a Sunshine State Conference regular season title and hosting duties for the NCAA Division II South Region Tournament.

Former Tars' John Smith and Oyvind Klausen are the only other Rollins men's soccer players to receive All-America honors more than once, as Klausen received the honor in 1986 and 1987, while Smith was named All-America in 1995 and 1996.

Robertson will finish his career as one of the most decorated players in Rollins history. He participated in 73 games as a Tar, which puts him in a tie for third on the all-time list, and has five career goals and 32 assists for 42 points. His 32 assists place him third among the all-time leaders in Rollins history. Robertson has been named to the All-Sunshine State Conference team three times, the NSCAA/adidas Men's Division II All-South Region first team three consecutive seasons and has also received the conference Defensive Player of the Year Award for the past two seasons.

All of the 2005 honorees will be invited to the NSCAA All-America Luncheon, which will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2006, as part of the 2006 NSCAA Convention in Philadelphia, Pa.

Robertson joined teammates Tres Loch (Longwood, Fla.) and Ryan Dodds (Windermere, Fla.) on the 2005 NSCAA/adidas NCAA Division II Men's All-South Region team.

Loch finished his junior season for the Tars with two goals and two assists while starting all 15 games. The defensive minded midfielder will enter his senior season with three goals and five assists for 11 points in his career. Loch was selected for the second team All-South Region in 2004.

Dodds led the Tars this season with 24 points (nine goals, six assists) in 15 games. The senior forward tallied 29 goals and 15 assists for 73 points during his career, which moves him into ninth place on the Rollins all-time list.
