Images From the Year 2003 Marine Biology Laboratory in Hawaii

The class took the shuttle boat to our base at the Hawaii Institute of Marine Biology Laboratory.

One of our activities was to learn about the exciting research being done at the HIMB laboratory.

On some days we would leave the laboratory to collect specimens from Kaneohe Bay reefs.

Finding the right reef took excellent navigation by group leader, Dr. David Richard.

Students observed many marine organisms including this green sea turtle.

Chad searches the bottom of the bay for invertebrates and algae.

Even in the field some students kept in contact with friends back at Rollins. The water in Kaneohe Bay was a lot colder than our students expected.
