Often students ask, "What can I
do with a major in ___________?" Quite simply, there is no one
specific set of careers that go with any single major. Any major you
choose could potentially provide you with more career opportunities than you
probably imagine. The majority of careers available to you do not even
require a specific major. Employers are much more often interested in
work experience, transferable skills and a students interests than what
major they studied while in college. The best way to answer, "What can
I do with a major in __________?" is to explain that it usually isn't a
student's choice of major that dictates future career options as much as it
is these other factors. That said, there are occupations that
naturally draw from the same interests and skills students often develop
while studying a particular field in college. While you are
considering your career options, it might be helpful to look through some of
the careers most relevant to the field of study you have chosen.
Below is a listing of several
majors often found at colleges and universities. Most of the majors
offered at Rollins are listed here as well. For each major that interests you, choose

typical employers, and strategies designed to maximize career opportunities
for that specific major.

Keep in mind that the information sheets and websites are representative of typical career paths
associated with each major and not a comprehensive list. You will want to explore information and
websites from multiple majors to help you learn about a wide range of career opportunities.
