Sometimes you don't have all the answers, although your students expect that of you. Next time a question catches you off-guard, check out the resources below. You just may find what you need!

Choosing a Major - For students, this is one of the biggest decisions they will make during college. Help them make the right choice. Assistance is available in the Thomas P. Johnson Student Resource Center as well as in Career Services.  We have many resources available to students to help walk them through the process of selecting a major.  Students can start with an individual appointment in either office. There is also a new course offered to help guide students through their academic and career planning. Click here to learn more about it.

Internships - Internships are available in a variety of fields, including several aspects of business and the non-profit sector. There is a good chance that we have an internship that is related to your discipline. To learn more about the Internship Program at Rollins, click here.

Graduate School - Since 35% of our graduates pursue an advanced degree after leaving Rollins, it is likely that you will run into questions about available programs, the admission process, entrance examinations, and more.

Career Services has resource guides on hand to help students identify programs that match their interests, as well as information on the GRE, GMAT and LSAT. We offer official practice exams each semester to help students estimate their performance on the real exams. We also sponsor several special workshops on the graduate school admission process, and are happy to work with students individually.  Each fall, the office sponsors Graduate School Week during which students are encouraged to attend workshops covering all aspects of the graduate school selection and admission process.

Pre-Law Advising - Refer students to Professor Marvin Newman for information and guidance on law school. Contact him at 646-2511, or via e-mail at mnewman@rollins.edu. Career Services has resource guides that will help students identify law programs, and our office works with Professor Newman to sponsor a practice administration of the LSAT.

Health Science and Pre-Medicine Advising - Refer students to Professor Jim Small for information on the health sciences. Contact him at 646-2433, or via e-mail at jsmall@rollins.edu. Career Services has written resources on a number of health science professions, and we work with Professor Small to sponsor a practice administration of the MCAT.

Job Search - This is our specialty!  If you find students who are concerned about any aspect of their job search, please put them in touch with us. You can also refer them to our web pages on resume writing, interviewing, campus recruiting, and job search.

Don't Cancel That Class! - Our staff members are ready and willing to visit your classroom. We are prepared to conduct presentations and discussions on career planning, major selection, internships, the job search, graduate and professional school, and much more.  Give us a call if you know you will be out of town or otherwise unable to hold class and we will take care of the rest.

Discipline Specific Programs- With some advance notice, we can develop a program to introduce your students to careers in your discipline. Please call us at 646-2195 or email Career Services.
