I received my B.S. in Chemistry and Applied Chemistry from the University of the West Indies (Kingston, Jamaica) in 1979. In Jamaica, I worked as a teacher of chemistry, physics, and mathematics, at a junior high school and an all boys high school. For a number of years, I worked with the Government Chemist, and the Bureau of Standards in Jamaica before coming to the United States. After migrating to the United States, I took some cosmetics courses in New Jersey, and worked as a cosmetic chemist in Elmsford, New York. I also worked as a research chemist at Columbia University/Hospital in New York City before joining Rollins College. I have served as the Laboratory Manager in the Chemistry Department at Rollins since June 19, 1989. I am a member of the ACS, SCC, and NAOSMM.
I am married and have two children who will be future Rollins graduates. I enjoy sewing, entertaining, and traveling. My goal is to visit all fifty states in the U.S.A. So far, I have twenty-four (states) under my belt and they are mostly in the eastern half of the country.
