A major in chemistry provides students with the basic training for a career in chemistry and related areas. A goal of the program is the development of critical thinking, problem solving and communication skills. Many graduates continue their education in graduate school or professional school and are now practicing chemists, teachers, doctors, lawyers, pharmacists, engineers, and business people. They are self-employed or work in government or industry.
The Rollins College Chemistry Department offers several program options leading to baccalaureate-level training in chemistry and preparation for graduate study in chemistry or professional programs.
