Stanley C. Gale ’72 ’73MBA

Gale International

Gale, a third-generation entrepreneur, founded Gale International, a global real estate investment and services firm overseeing a portfolio exceeding 40 million square feet of commercial space. Gale is the recipient of many honors, including Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young and Inc. Magazine. A lifetime sports enthusiast, he maintains an ownership interest in the New York Yankees, the New Jersey Nets and the New Jersey Devils. Gale was inducted into the Rollins College Sports Hall of Fame in 1989 for his participation in soccer and was honored with the Rollins College Alumni Achievement Award in 1997. He was inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame in 2006.

Wallace is senior vice president of Walt Disney World® Operations, and maintains full operating responsibility for all theme parks, resorts, sports and recreation, as well as the operations line of business support for attractions/entertainment, merchandise and food and beverage. In her twenty plus years with the Walt Disney World®, Wallace has served as Vice President of the Magic Kingdom® Park, Vice President of Resorts and General Manager of Theme Park Operations, where she participated in the opening of Disney’s Animal Kingdom®. She was inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame in 2006.

Thomas J. McEvoy, ’80 ’85MBA

Sprint Nextel’s LTD Business Markets

McEvoy is responsible for leading the sales and marketing efforts of a business unit that provides integrated communications solutions to a $13 billion market of corporate and government accounts. McEvoy has worked in the telecommunications industry for more than 26 years and has held a variety of roles within Sprint, including assignments in finance, business operations, as well as carrier and consumer markets. He was inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame in 2006.

Al Weiss ’81

Walt Disney World Resort

Weiss began working at Walt Disney World after graduation from high school for $2.50 an hour. In his more than 30 years with the company, he has held 20 different roles encompassing nearly every part of the business. Today, he leads the world’s No. 1 vacation destination, which employs more than 51,000 cast members. He was inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame in 2002.

F. Duane Ackerman ’64 ’70

BellSouth Corporation

A native of Plant City, FL, Ackerman holds two degrees from Rollins College and a master’s degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He began his telecommunications career in 1964 and has served in many capacities through the consolidation of Southern Bell, South Central Bell, and BellSouth Services. He was inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame in 1997.

Ronald Gelbman ’69 ’70
Chairman, Diagnostics & Pharmaceuticals
Johnson & Johnson

Gelbman is the former worldwide chairman of the Health Systems & Diagnostics Group of Johnson & Johnson. He retired in 2000 after more than 25 years in the healthcare industry, but continues to serve on a number of corporate boards in that field. A member of the Rollins College Board of Trustees, Gelbman was inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame in 1996.

Charles E. Rice ’64

Barnett Banks of Florida

Voted “most likely to succeed” in a college yearbook, Rice became the youngest director of Barnett Banks, Inc., in 1971, and the next year became president. He was named chairman in 1984 and became chairman of NationsBank upon the merger of Barnett Banks and NationsBank Corporation. He was inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame in 1987.
