Rollins Professor Edits Book on Business Education in Developing CountriesIn transitioning and developing economies, it is crucial to have educated managers available in order to accommodate rapid business growth. A new comprehensive Handbook, co-edited by Rollins College Crummer Graduate School of Business Associate Professor Ilan Alon, Ph.D., looks into business and management education, pedagogical models, and curricula innovations in educational institutions around the world. The Handbook, Business and Management Education in Transitioning and Developing Countries (M. E. Sharpe) is the first such work to emphasize emerging markets. Alon is an associate professor of international business and co-director of the Global Research and Study Program at the Crummer School. His research focuses on international business, franchising and political risk assessment. His research has been published in a wide range of international journals. He was the winner of the Chinese Marketing Award from the Society for Marketing Advances in 2002. He has been a consultant to multinational companies and government agencies and has taught in the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST) and Bongde University in China. Before joining Rollins, Alon was an assistant professor at the State University of New York. |
