Crummer School Designated a Premier Beta Gamma Sigma ChapterThe Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College was designated a 2003 Premier Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma at the Southern Business Deans' conference last week. Only twelve business schools in the Southern region hold this designation. Beta Gamma Sigma (BSG) is the honor society serving business programs accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). Membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is the highest recognition students can receive in a program of business or management. To be eligible for membership, MBA students must rank in the upper 20 percent of their graduating class. Only the top students studying at the world's most prestigious business schools are qualified to receive an invitation to join the Society. Each year, Beta Gamma Sigma honors its highest performing chapters by naming them "Premier Chapters." The Premier Chapter designation indicates that the faculty and students at the Crummer School have gone above and beyond the ordinary in making their chapter outstanding. Currently, the Crummer School has 40 MBA students in its chapter. As one of only 60 schools that qualified for the Premier Chapter designation (out of a total of 394 BGS chapters), the Rollins chapter has qualified to compete for the Society's highest collegiate chapter award - the 2004 Outstanding Chapter. Additionally, the Premier Chapter designation qualifies the chapter to award a $1,000 Beta Gamma Sigma Scholarship to one of its finest student members. "The Crummer School is honored to have been chosen to receive this distinction," said Dr. Craig McAllaster, dean of the Crummer School. "It is a testament to quality of our faculty and students." |
