Crummer Graduate School of Business Announces Additions to FacultyDean Craig McAllaster is pleased to announce the following additions to the faculty of the Rollins College Crummer Graduate School of Business for Fall 2004: Laurel Adams joins the Crummer School as visiting associate professor of economics. Adams was awarded a Ph.D. degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She joins the Crummer School faculty after a successful international career in the telecommunications industry and academia. Previously, she taught at Northwestern’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management. She has held visiting appointments at universities in London, Kiev and the Caribbean and has taught in the areas of strategic management, finance and economics. Due to the experiential diversity in her career, Adams’ research interests include international business and economics. She has been published in numerous academic journals. Jule B. Gassenheimer joins the Crummer School as professor of marketing. She was awarded a Ph.D. degree from the University of Alabama. Prior to joining Rollins College, Gassenheimer was the Gatton Professor of Marketing at the University of Kentucky. During her tenure, she served as the director of graduate studies for marketing and was a member of the Faculty Senate. Her research interests include team selling, long-term buyer-seller relationships and channel strategy. Gassenheimer has worked extensively with organizations to bring real-world problems and opportunities to the classroom. Several of these organizations include: The New Opportunity School for Women, the International Business and Management Center – Gatton College of Business and Economics, Lexmark, and the Small Business Center for the State of Kentucky. Her work has appeared in a number of academic journals and she has six years of industrial sales experience. Gassenheimer has also been involved in several industry research studies and seminars and is an active member of the American Marketing Association and the Academy of Marketing Science. Halil Kiymaz joins Rollins as professor of finance. He was awarded a Ph.D. degree from the University of New Orleans. Prior to joining the Crummer School, he taught at the University of Houston – Clear Lake, Bilkent University, and the University of New Orleans. He has also served as an educational consultant at the Ankara Chamber of Commerce and the Central Bank of Turkey, among others. His research interests include international mergers and acquisitions, emerging capital markets, linkages among capital markets of developing economies, mutual fund performance, initial public offerings and financial management of multinationals. His teaching specialties include mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and international finance. Kiymaz has published extensively in academic journals including the Journal of Banking and Finance, Financial Review, Review of Financial Economics, Global Finance Journal, the Journal of Multinational Financial Management, Applied Financial Economics, and the Journal of Economics and Finance. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a grader for the CFA Institute. Keith L. Whittingham joins the Crummer School faculty as visiting associate professor of management science after previously serving two years as associate dean for operations. He was awarded a Ph.D. degree from Cornell University and is a 2001 graduate of the Rollins Executive MBA program at the Crummer School. His areas of teaching include quantitative business analysis and Six Sigma certification. His research interests include sustainable development and process improvement in the developing world, and related quantitative studies in operations management, behavioral science and international business. Recently, he had a research submission accepted for presentation at the 2004 Annual Meeting of the Decision Sciences Institute. Prior to academia, Whittingham was employed by AT&T, Agere Systems and Lucent Technologies, where he held a number of management positions in manufacturing, research and development, strategic business development, and human resources. Corrine B. Young joins Rollins College as visiting associate professor
of management. She was awarded a Ph.D. degree from Tulane University.
In addition to teaching courses in leadership and negotiation, she
serves as executive director of the Center for Leadership Development.
Young comes to Rollins College from the Alvah H. Chapman Graduate
School of Business at Florida International University where she
served as director of marketing and corporate relations. Prior to
that, she was a tenured faculty member and served in a variety of
leadership roles, including executive director of the Center for
Leadership and associate dean, at the University of Tampa. Young
has published extensively in the areas of international strategy,
economic integration, knowledge management, organizational learning,
change management, and behavioral training simulation. An ardent
community leader, she is a member of the Governor’s Council
of Economic Advisors and serves on the advisory board of the Center
for International Business Education and Research at the University
of Florida. |
