The Rollins Saturday MBA program is currently accepting applications for the Spring 2010 term beginning in January 2010. Applicants who wish to be considered for a Round Two Decision should submit the online application and all supporting materials prior to November 19, 2009. All applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. The Saturday MBA (SMBA) is an intensive 19-month program structured to provide business professionals the necessary skills required in today’s fast paced business environment. This program has been specially designed to meet the needs of working professionals (business people, doctors, lawyers, etc.). One of the major advantages of this MBA program is the caliber of your fellow students. You will learn as much from your classmates as you will from our distinguished professors. The richness of the class discussion plays a significant role in attracting many students to the Saturday MBA program. Each SMBA class is limited to 40 students. Students are assigned to a study team which functions as a support group to help each student through the program. The SMBA Program at Rollins College will start once every January. Classes meet on Saturdays, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with an hour break for lunch. Students will participate in a international study trip to one or more major foreign locations. The typical SMBA student:
SMBA Curriculum The Saturday MBA Program is a full 53 credit hour MBA program consisting of two required intensive courses (5 credits), nine core courses (27 credits), one international study trip (3 credits), five advanced courses (15 credits) and one integrating course (3 credits). The completion of 53 credits earns each SMBA student the Master of Business Administration degree from the internationally accredited, Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College. SMBA students complete eight nine-week terms spread out over nineteen months. Year One offers a blend of courses intended to develop skills with selected analytical methods and to introduce participants to the basic areas of managerial decision-making. The first year begins in January with a five-day intensive orientation. Two courses are taken during each of the five nine-week terms that comprise the first year. Year Two is designed to utilize the analytical techniques and management precepts from the first year courses to enhance your executive decision making skills. The class will participate in an intensive course that covers the legal, ethical, and social issues of business during the second year. You then complete three nine-week terms with two courses each, and finish the program with a five-week term. Studying the effect of cultural influences on business is one thing, seeing them in action is another. The program of study for the first year culminates with the completion of a course on Business in the Global Environment. After analyzing international business issues through readings, case studies, and formal research projects, you and your SMBA classmates will travel as a class on an International Study Trip to a major foreign location to study management practices in an international setting.
