Frequently
Asked Questions
Why are unrestricted
dollars so important to Rollins?
Unrestricted donations to The
Rollins Fund are the College's highest priority for annual giving.
They are the means by which Rollins alumni, parents, and friends can
most effectively contribute their financial support for undergraduate
education and student life. Additionally, unrestricted funds are key
to institutional flexibility, allowing Rollins to better serve our
students, address unexpected issues, and fund innovative campus initiatives.
Where does my contribution
to The Rollins Fund go?
Your annual gift to The Rollins
Fund, combined with the support of other generous donors, has an immediate
and meaningful impact on Rollins students. Gifts to The Rollins Fund
provide revenue that enhances every student's experience through scholarships,
innovative academic initiatives, student-faculty collaborative research,
student life programs, technology, and campus preservation.
Doesn't tuition cover all
costs?
No, in fact, contributions
to The Rollins Fund help to bridge the difference between the total
cost of a college education and the amount students pay in tuition.
Tuition, fees, and room and board cover approximately 75 percent of
the actual cost of educating each Rollins student. The remaining cost
per student is funded through a combination of earnings from the College's
endowment and private contributions. The most important form of private
funding consists of unrestricted annual gifts to The Rollins Fund.
How can my small gift
make a difference?
Every gift makes a difference!
Gifts of all sizes add up to help Rollins attract deserving students
and outstanding faculty, plus much more. Alumni participation is a
key indicator of alumni satisfaction for college rankings such as
U.S. News & World Report and enables the College to
garner greater support from corporations and foundations. Every gift,
regardless of size, is greatly appreciated.
When should I make
my gift?
The best time to make your
Rollins Fund gift is now. Your gift begins working as soon
as it is received. In order for your gift to count in this year's
annual fund, it must be received by May 31.
How else can I help?
Rollins could not continue
to thrive without the financial support of thousands of alumni, parents,
and friends. But supporting Rollins doesn't just mean dollars. Whether
it's recommending a student to Rollins, setting up an internship at
the company where you work, or volunteering your services to assist
the Alumni Association, Rollins appreciates your support. For more
information on volunteering for Rollins, please call the Alumni Office at 407-646-2266.
How do I update my address?
You can update your address, update
your e-mail address, and submit class news on the Alumni Association
website.
