Assistant Professor of Education. Dr. Kovarik has experience as an
elementary school teacher, guidance counselor, elementary specialist
and K - 8 school administrator. Prof. Kovarik's areas of interest
include elementary mathematics, curriculum design, instructional
strategies and differentiated instruction. She teaches courses
including Curriculum for the Diverse Learner, Mathematics: Content
and Methods, Social Studies: Content and Methods, Reading
Diagnostics, Competencies for the Beginning Teacher, and Children's
Literature.

J. Moe – Ph.D. University of Minnesota. Richard James Mertz Professor
of Education. Professor Moe is a specialist
in literacy learning. He teaches courses on reading and writing instruction.
He has been an elementary teacher and a high school teacher. He has
held prior academic appointments at Purdue University, Louisiana State
University, and Lehigh University. He is the author, co-author, or
editor of six books, about twenty book chapters, and 50 journal articles.
He is a coauthor of the Analytical Reading Inventory, seventh edition
(Merrill Prentice Hall, 2003) and the senior author of Keystones for
Reading (Modern Curriculum Press, 1988) a series of workbooks for
elementary school students.

Giovanni
Valiante -
Ph.D. Emory University. Prof. Valiante's research interests include
motivation and beliefs. His research has primarily been in the area
of writing self-efficacy, achievement goals, and writing self-concept.
He teaches courses in Child and Adolescent Development, Educational
Psychology, and Sport Psychology. He is the author of Fearless
Golf: Conquering the Mental Game.
