New Venture Plan Competition
The New Venture Competition is an important entrepreneurial activity
and a great experiential learning tool for the participants. Rollins
students, faculty, staff and alumni are eligible to compete. Participants
will submit a written business plan with selected plans being chosen
to do an oral presentation in a semi-final round. From there, the
finalists, chosen from all applicants by a distinguished panel of
local entrepreneurial-minded businessmen, will present their plan
to an audience comprised of their peers as well as members of the
business community, including potential investors. Prizes will be
awarded to the winners. This competition is an annual event.
Distinguished Student Entrepreneurship Award
The Distinguished Student Entrepreneur Award recognizes students
whose involvement in entrepreneurial activities indicate a strong
interest in the field. Students earn points by attending activities
and events sponsored by the Center and other organizations. If a
student participates in enough events and activities to earn 21
points, we recognize the interest and involvement by awarding him/her
this award. One of the benefits of participating in this program
is that the Center puts together all award winners and presents
them to fast-growing entrepreneurial-minded firms as desirable hires.
The Distinguished Student Entrepreneur program is available for
sponsoring. The sponsoring firm will be recognized throughout
the year for supporting and encouraging student participation
in entrepreneurial events. They will be the keynote speaker at
the banquet awarding these students, and receive strong PR support
for this award.
