GMAT Review Course

Upcoming dates:

  • September 19 - October 10, 2009

  • October 17 - November 7, 2009

 

Each course will meet a total of four Saturdays. The fisrt Saturday, the program will start promptly at 8:30 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m. On the remaining sessions, the program will start at 9:00 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m. with a one-hour break for lunch.

A complimentary networking luncheon for participants of the GMAT Review Course will be offered by the Crummer Graduate School of Business on the last session of the GMAT Review Course. Depending on which course you attend, the dates of the luncheon will be as follows:

During the luncheon, Crummer staff will be available to discuss our MBA programs and answer any questions you may have about becoming a Crummer student.

The text used is The Official Guide for GMAT Review, prepared by the Educational Testing Service. The book will be supplied to you as part of the program at no additional cost. Students are encouraged to practice using the Computer-Adaptive GMAT: POWERPREP Software. This software is free and can be downloaded from www.mba.com.

Course Overview:

Verbal:

The verbal review section of the GMAT preparation course has these objectives:

  • to review the fundamentals of Standard Written English
  • to examine the formats of the test’s multiple-choice verbal questions
  • to develop appropriate and efficient strategies for the multiple-choice question types

Mathematics

The mathematics review section of the GMAT preparation course has two objectives:

  • develop appropriate strategies for the multiple-choice question types
  • review the mathematical concepts contained in the exam

Instruction is primarily by problem evaluation and review of solution techniques using sample problems from past exams. The first math session covers section and question strategies. We will also review arithmetic and basic algebra concepts and techniques. The second session reviews advanced algebra, geometry, and special problem types often seen on the exam.

Faculty Leaders:

Verbal Review: Gerald Wilhelm

Gerald Wilhelm holds degrees in Language Education and in French Language and Culture from the University of Central Florida. Over the past 15 years, he has taught review courses for the language portions of the GMAT, LSAT and GRE for Kaplan Test Prep and for the Crummer School. He scored in the 98th percentile on the GMAT, and received offers of full and partial scholarships from several business schools, including the Crummer School. In addition to his teaching, Mr. Wilhelm’s work experience has included technical writing and proofreading for Sprint, and freelance translation of technical manuals into Spanish, French, and German.

Mathematics Review: Wendy Bush, Ph.D.

Dr. Wendi Bush received her Doctorate Degree in Community College Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Central Florida in 2001. Additionally, she holds both a Masters of Science in Applied Mathematics and a Masters of Education in Mathematics Education. Currently, she is a tenured mathematics professor at Valencia Community College. Prior to that, she was Actuary with Loyal American Life Insurance Company. Her professional accolades include Professor of the Year, Osceola Campus and multiple Who's Who Among America's Teacher awards.

Cancellation Policy:

A full refund will be granted for cancellations received up to 10 business days prior to the start of the program.

Cancellations received between 6 - 10 business days prior to the program will be subject to a 50% cancellation fee.

Cancellations received within 5 business days will not receive a refund.

Lack of payment does not constitute cancellation. No shows are responsible for entire tuition fee.

All cancellations must be made in writing and can be e-mailed (execed@rollins.edu), faxed (407-646-1503) or mailed (1000 Holt Avenue - 2722ME, Winter Park, FL 32789).

Rollins College Management and Executive Education reserves the right to cancel the program at any time and will be liable only for refund of the program fee.

An administrative fee may be assessed for substitutions or transfers.

Fee: $395

The fee includes The Official Guide for GMAT Review book. Lunch is included on the last day of the program only. This course does not qualify for any discounts.
