The annual Commencement Ceremony for graduates of the the Hamilton
Holt School will be held on:

Additional Information
This ceremony is held to honor all 2008-2009 students of Rollins
College Hamilton Holt School and includes Holt Graduate
Studies programs - Master of Arts in Teaching, Master
of Arts in Counseling,
Master of Education, Master of Liberal Studies and Master
of Human Resource. We invite and encourage your participation.
We look forward to the opportunity to celebrate this very special
time with you. Please contact your program adviser if you have
questions or need additional information.
DIPLOMAS
Diplomas are ordered early for the Spring ceremony. Changes
will be processed after the ceremony date.
Diplomas for students graduating
December 31, 2008 and May 9, 2009 will be held
until after the Commencement ceremony. Diplomas will be ready for pick up after May 12, for students not participating in the event.
August graduates who already received diplomas
have the option of returning the original diploma to be awarded
during
the ceremony, or receiving a discrete blank diploma cover
at the event. If you wish to have the original diploma awarded
at the ceremony, you need to return it to our office by May
6.
Graduates who have an unpaid balance on their student account
at the time of Commencement will not receive a diploma or
final transcript until the debt is resolved.
DIPLOMA NAME / REPLACEMENT DIPLOMA
It is the policy of the Hamilton Holt School that
the diploma name be the same as the legal name on the student
record. Diplomas will not be ordered in anticipation of a
name change. Legal documentation is required for a name change.
Replacements
Replacement diplomas are possible provided the incorrect
diploma is returned along with name change documentation.
Lost or damaged diplomas will need to be substantiated in
writing. There is fee for a replacement and the phrase "replacement
diploma" is noted on the document.
NAME CHANGE
Students who wish to change their name must provide
original, legal court documentation that reflects the new
legal name. All student records will be changed to reflect
the change. Please note that a driver's license is not valid legal documentation
to change your name.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Graduates will receive information from the Rollins
College Rice Family Bookstore regarding class rings and personalized graduation
announcements
January/February.
REGALIA
The Hamilton Holt School orders student regalia using information received
via the confirmation of participation form. Students
do not have to go to the Bookstore for fitting. Please note that students
graduating
from
masters
level programs have different regalia from undergraduate. You will be notified
when regalia is available for pick up at the Bookstore.
GUESTS
The Commencement Committee has not confirmed the need to restrict the number
of guests who attend the ceremony. This confirmation is not expected until
after March 31. Should it be necessary to limit guests, instructions will
be mailed to students.
CEREMONY START TIME
Please inform your guests that the ceremony procession will begin at 9:45am.
Guests who are not seated in the Alfond Sports Center by then will be diverted
to the rear doors and my take their seats after the
procession is seated. Late arrivals may be accommodated in a a separate room
with video viewing.
SPECIAL NEEDS / ACCOMMODATIONS
Graduates: If you have mobility considerations that may affect your participation or need accommodations such as a translator for the hearing impaired, it is imperative that you contact your Holt School adviser by March 1.
Guests: If an attending guest requires special accommodations, please complete the Request for Accommodation for Special Needs by March 1.
UNDERGRADUATE SERVICE AWARDS
Nominations for Meritorious Service Awards are requested in early Spring.
This honor is awarded to graduating seniors in
the undergraduate
program who have demonstrated uncompensated (either by pay or receipt of
academic credit) meritorious service to the Holt School, the College or
the community during their tenure as Holt students. Nomination deadline
is April 1. Students may be self-nominated with
substantiation
of service. Recipients are selected by the Holt School Directors, and will
be
recognized at a special event on Friday preceding the commencement ceremony.
