2009 Commencement Events

 

For those participating in the Commencement ceremony, please review the schedule below. If you find that you are unable to participate in Commencement activities, please notify our office as soon as possible.

April 15 – May 9, 2009
 

Cap and Gown Pick Up at the Rice Family Bookstore
Hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.,
Friday 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., and Saturday, 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. 

Special hours for Saturday, May 9, 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Friday, May 8, 2009
 

Undergraduate Awards Ceremony
5:45 – 6:30 p.m. at the Knowles Memorial Chapel

6:30 – 7:30 p.m. Reception for undergraduates and families, Galloway Room, Mills Memorial Center

Note:  Students in graduate programs will receive separate information concerning individual program events.

Commencement Day
8:45 a.m. Instructional rehearsal for all graduates, Knowles Memorial Chapel

Note: Please leave handbags, cameras, and personal belongings with family members.  There will be no secure facilities to store such items.

9:00 a.m. Doors to Harold and Ted Alfond Sports Center open for guest seating. Guests should be advised to be in their seats by 9:45 a.m. in order to avoid disruption of the processional and ceremony.

10:00 a.m. Commencement ceremony begins, Harold and Ted Alfond Sports Center

11:30 a.m.  Reception for graduates and guests, Cornell Student Center

Holt staff members will be available during the instructional time in the Knowles Chapel and at the stage area immediately following the ceremony should you have questions or need assistance in any way.

We recognize that this is a very special time for you and your family, and we are committed to providing a meaningful, memorable experience.  There is no limit on the number of guests you may invite to share in this event. Long distance family and friends may also view your Commencement live on the Rollins Website.
