Student Financial Aid Awards
Students who have received a letter from the Office of
Student Financial Planning may defer tuition up to
the stated amount. This represents a service
of the Hamilton Holt School that should be viewed as an extension of the payment
deadline rather than a guarantee of payment. Students are held personally
and financially responsible for registrations they initiate, whether or not
anticipated aid is subsequently received by the student. The Holt School
is not involved in award and disbursement decisions and does not automatically
withdraw students in the event aid is reduced, denied or terminated. It
is the responsibility of the student in such cases to pay full tuition or withdraw in
writing by the end of the first week of the term in order to avoid being
held financially responsible for course enrollments and fees. Financial Aid must be awarded prior to registration in order to
qualify for tuition deferment. Students who register for courses
without an award letter are expected to pay the tuition in full.
Disbursement
Financial Aid is applied to student's accounts on the first day of class. Student
refunds that result from the posting of aid disbursements are mailed to the
student's current address after the drop/add period. Please verify your address
in Campus Pipeline at the time you register. Rollins College is not responsible
for misdirected mail.
Questions regarding awards and disbursements should be directed
to the Office of Student Financial Planning (407-646-2395).
Changes in Registrations
Changes in course loads (number of registration
hours) may impact current or future financial aid awards.
Financial aid recipients are strongly encouraged to
contact the Financial Aid Office or the Holt School
Financial Aid Facilitator prior to withdrawing from
courses in order to consider the impact of the change
in the decision to withdraw. Promissory notes and entrance counseling
New borrowers are required to go through entrance counseling and sign promissory
notes for awarded loans before the loans can be disbursed. Contact the Office
of Student Financial Planning at 407-646-2395 for more information.
Florida Resident Access Grant (FRAG)
The FRAG is funded by the Florida Department of Education (DOE) not Rollins
College. FRAG awards are estimations and the Florida DOE reserves the right
to adjust award amounts. Sometimes the estimate is higher and sometimes it
is lower than the actual award. Please be aware that if the award falls below
the stated estimate, the student is responsible for the difference.
Note: Students may defer payment of the amount of the FRAG
under the guidelines presented above in the section "Student
Financial Aid Awards. " Bright Futures Scholarship
Students who receive the The Bright Futures Scholarship are responsible for
notifying the Student Financial Plannig office prior to the start of their
first semester.
Florida Pre-paid
Florida Pre-paid cards should be presented to the Bursar's Office prior to
registration. For more information, please contact the Bursar's Office at
407-646-2252.
Books
Students who have authorized unused aid may transfer funds to their R-Card
to purchase books at the Rollins College Rice Family Bookstore. Students
should complete the Flex Transfer
Authorization form and present it to the Bursar's Office prior
to the end of the published drop/add period. Contact the Bursar's
Office at 407-646-2252 for additional information.
