Undergraduate Study Abroad Scholarships
The following are outside scholarships brought to the attention of the Office of International Programs. None are administered by Rollins College and these listings are for informational purposes only. International Programs cannot be responsible for submitting applications for the student.

IIEPassport
IIE Passport materials help students find the right program. IIE provides a searchable database of study abroad programs, www.iiepassport.org, and a wealth of tools for students - newsletters, city and country portals, destination of the month brochures, calendars, maps, and timely tips.

Study Abroad Funding
The online search engine at www.studyabroadfunding.org allows students to search by country or subject to find study abroad grants and scholarships.

The British Council - UK Scholarship Listings
This is a listing of scholarships available to US citizens for study at universities in the UK. This list shows both graduate and undergraduate scholarships and is quite lengthy. It is a good place to start if looking for a school at attend in the UK. See the website: http://www.britishcouncil-usa.org/education/ schol_list.shtml.

Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program
The Gilman Program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, offers scholarships for students with financial need who have been traditionally under-represented in education abroad. For eligibility requirements and further information, see the website: http://www.iie.org/gilman/ . Deadlines are mid-March for the Fall or Academic Year, and early October for Spring.

State Farm Hispanic Scholarship Awards Program
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) selects 20 Hispanic college students to receive State Farm Companies Foundation-sponsored scholarships of $2,500. Recipients are selected for academic accomplishment and demonstrated leadership skills. Applications are available August 3 through October 9 from the Hispanic Scholarship Fund. Bridging Scholarships for Study in Japan
This scholarship provides a $2,500 stipend for undergraduate students participating in study-abroad programs in Japan during the Fall Semester (students on year-long programs receive $4,000). Students in any major are eligible and Japanese language ability is not required. Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents. Selection is based on academic potential and financial need. Deadline for receipt of applications is in early April for the Fall semester. More information is available at http://www.colorado.edu/ealld/atj.

Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarships
The Ambassadorial Scholarships Program of the Rotary Foundation is the world's largest privately funded international scholarships program. There are currently two types of scholarships: The Academic-Year Ambassadorial Scholarships, which provide funding in the amount of US$25,000, or its equivalent, for one academic year abroad. There is also the Cultural Ambassadorial Scholarships, which provide funding in the amount of US$12,000 for three months and US$19,000 for six months of intensive language study and cultural immersion in another country. Pamela Harriman Foreign Service Scholarship
This scholarship, through the College of William and Mary, provides an eleven-week summer service opportunity with the US Department of State plus a $5,000 stipend at one of three posts: the US Embassy in Paris, the US Embassy in London and the Office of the Secretary of State in Washington. The program is nationally competitive and highly selective. Three awards are offered annually. Check out the Pamela Harriman Foreign Service Scholarship website for more information.

IIE Palma Robinson Dailey Memorial Fund
This scholarship provides one $2,500 Travel Grant for a student pursuing a course of study in a developing nation. Proposals to be considered will focus on issues concerning the maintenance of cultural integrity in that nation. Studies may include, but are not limited to, economics, sociology, art, engineering, medicine and science. IIE National Security Education Program
This scholarship seeks to increase the ability of Americans to communicate and compete globally by understanding the languages and cultures of other countries. Each year, NSEP offers American undergraduates scholarships to enhance their understanding of cultures and languages critical to US national security. These scholarships are valid for study in countries outside Western Europe, Canada, Australia or New Zealand. Open to US citizens in a degree-granting program. Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors are eligible. Maximum scholarship is $8,000 for one semester; $16,000 for an academic year. For more information, go to http://www.iie.org/nsep.

IIE Grants
The Institute of International Education provides 10 unrestricted grants of $500 each per academic year for study abroad. For more information, see IIE's website. Deadline for Fall Semester is in March of each year.

German Academic Exchange Service Scholarships
Short-term and long-term awards are available for study at any German university. Award recipients are selected on the basis of academic performance and strong project proposal/statement of purpose. German language competence is desired but not required. Awards for short term stays are US$2,000 for two month programs, US$2,600 for three month programs. Semester or year-abroad program participants receive a monthly stipend of DM 1,150 per month. For application guidelines, please see the program website at http://www.daad.org. Boren Scholarships & Fellowships
Funding from the National Security Education Program (NSEP) supports U.S. undergraduate and graduate students to study less communly taught languages in world regions critical to U.S. interests. Up to $20,000 for undergraduates and $30,000 for graduate students depending on cost and length of program.
