The Network & Systems Team shares responsibility for all Servers, Network Devices, Internet connectivity, and system backups. Pictured from L to R are Mark Schendel, Ron Pease, Bill Hobbs, Troy Thomason, Rashel Mahoney, and Jim Spitzer.
Mark Schendel is responsible for administration of Departmental NT/Win2000 systems.
Ron Pease is responsible for administration of the Novell network including user account creation and maintenance. He assists with resolving network problems and maintains the Citrix servers, as well as developing custom tools for these and other functions.
Bill Hobbs is the System Administrator for Web and application servers running Sun Solaris and Microsoft NT/Win2000. He provides technical support for Banner, FoxLink, BlackBoard, ASP and the Olin Library SIRSI initiatives. Bill also assists in the strategic planning and direction of Information Technology.
Troy Thomason is the Rollins Email Administrator. He is responsible for the GroupWise configuration and operation on the email servers, as well as client training, resolving any issues that arise in mail delivery, and assisting in the administration of the college's spam filter devices.
Rashel Mahoney is a Network Engineer. Her primary responsibilities are managing and implementing the Cisco wireless networking devices and services, and monitoring and administering the department's tape backup hardware and software.
Jim Spitzer is responsible for the campus network devices & performance and Novell server management. He oversees the email and systems backup areas, is reponsible for all network related issues, and administers the college's Internet connectivity and traffic management devices. Jim also participates in strategic planning for IT.
