Changing Banner Password
Information
Technology recommends that Banner users change their passwords immediately upon
first login. To change your password, log
in to Banner using your default username and
password. Upon successfully logging into Banner, a screen similar to
the one pictured below will be displayed. You may click on the link to Change Banner Password located on the right of the menu screen or in the Direct Access field, enter GUAPSWD.
You
should now be viewing a form that will allow you to change your password.
Your username and database will already be entered for you. Enter your current
Banner password in the Oracle Password field. Next enter your new/desired
password in the New Oracle Password field. Banner passwords must be at least 6 characters long and must included at least one number and one letter. Confirm your new password by
retyping it in
the Verify Password field and click on the Apply password change button.
You
will now see a dialogue box confirming that your password has been changed and
that you are reconnecting to the system. Click OK and wait for the system
to return you to the default Banner screen.
For additional security, Banner passwords will expire every 90 days. You will receive a 10-day warning when it is due to be reset.
