Rollins Technology Orientation

The following course outline should be considered as a basic computer competency checklist for all Rollins staff. Attendance at one of these classes is required as a prerequisite for all of the IT certificate programs and also when an office computer is replaced. All staff should consider taking this class as soon as it is convenient. All sessions are held in the Olin Teaching Lab or Olin room 260.

For new Rollins employees:
The purpose of this class is to begin the process of teaching Rollins staff how to use information resources on their own and with confidence. It is also our goal that "Ah-hah" moments are frequent; even people with reasonable skills should come away from the class with at least a couple of time-saving or interesting pieces of information.

Most items below will have a Web page where employees can go for additional information or to review what is covered in the class.  Classes will be taught by senior IT staff.  They will be offered every week on alternating Monday afternoons and Thursday mornings.  Classes will be evaluated and then surveys sent to new staff after three months on the job to evaluate their effectiveness.
