Knowles Memorial Chapel
What We Do
The Dean of the Chapel acts as
the pastor of the College. There are weekly worship
services, classes on Scripture and Theology, marriage
counseling and visits to the sick.
The Dean of the Chapel also
performs marriages, baptisms, funerals and memorial
services for members of the Rollins community. He also
coordinates a wide array of activities which provide a
distinct aspect of student life here at Rollins.
The Dean of the Chapel provides
pastoral and personal counseling to staff and students,
regardless of religious orientation.
Special services occur in the
chapel throughout the year. Christmas Vespers services
attract capacity crowds. The music department presents
many concerts throughout the academic year featuring
visiting guest artists and the many music students who
represent the Rollins Choir, Women's Ensemble, musical
groups and instrumentalists. Distinguished religious
leaders are invited to speak in the chapel.
The Dean of the Chapel oversees
the coordinated efforts of the United Campus Ministry.
These groups provide spiritual leadership to the diverse
faith traditions represented at Rollins.
Religious groups often work
together in joint service projects such as Habitat for
Humanity, Coalition for the Homeless and many outreach
programs in the Orlando/Winter Park areas.
