This five-part series builds on the two prerequisite workshops, Finding
Funding and First Steps in Fundraising, to give the attendee a complete
grasp of what it takes to write an award-winning grant request. Beginning
with the importance of building a strong and trusting relationship with
the grantmaker, you will be guided through the process as you craft a
proposal to submit at the completion of the series.
This is the only course of its kind that affords you the opportunity to
meet face-to-face with local funders to hear what they look for in grant
applications. You will have a critique of the proposal you wrote while
attending the workshop series.
You will learn to:
- clearly identify the problem to be solved
- formulate a concise need statement corroborated by supportive data
- write a need statement tied to outcome-based evaluation in an engaging
story-telling style
- capture the grant reviewer's interest
- master creating a proposal budget and narrative text that addresses
sustainability.
This is the only course of its kind that affords you the opportunity
to meet face-to-face with local funders to hear what they look for in
grant applications. You will even learn to evaluate components of professionally
written proposals and have a critique of the proposal you wrote while
attending the workshop series.
The fee for all five Proposal Writing workshops is $600 for Philanthropy
Center Members and $1,100 for Non-members.
The instructor
is Ms. Lee Bailey, MLS.
Lee is a program manager at the Philanthropy & Nonprofit Leadership
Center and has over 30 years of grant writing experience and has written
