Certificate Programs
The Philanthropy & Nonprofit Leadership Center offers four certificate
programs designed to assist nonprofit organizations, administrators, volunteers,
and board members to operate more efficiently and effectively to extend
scarce resources as they fulfill their mission. Click on the links below
to learn more about the certificate programs offered by the Philanthropy
& Nonprofit Leadership Center.
- Certificate in Philanthropic Fundraising
The Certificate in Philanthropic Fundraising can help you advance in
the field, achieve your career goals, and prepare you for leadership
roles in nonprofit fundraising/development departments. The program
offers training in fundraising fundamentals, major gifts, capital campaigns
and planned giving.
- Certificate in Nonprofit Management
This certificate program provides a practical foundation for
those pursuing a career in the nonprofit sector. Participants will receive
a broad-based professional education on fundraising and business topics
to equip them for leading nonprofit organizations.
- Certificate in Proposal Writing
The Philanthropy Center’s proposal writing workshop series
was carefully developed to be interactive through the use of speakers,
group discussions, group exercises, and the completion of an actual
proposal, which is peer-reviewed. This certificate offers the tools
to develop carefully targeted, well-written proposals that make a compelling
case for an organization and its mission.
- Certificate in Volunteer
Management
Volunteer managers focus on maximizing use of volunteers in their organizations.
This certificate program teaches techniques for recruiting, training,
placing, retaining and rewarding volunteers, and offers a process for
creating a manual that includes all aspects of a successful volunteer
program.
- Certificate in Leadership Practice
This certificate program convenes nonprofit professionals to discover
and understand their personal leadership strengths and weaknesses and
their applicability to the sector as a whole. Participants use self-assessment
and feedback instruments to help identify critical behaviors and initiate
personal development plans.
