A.M. Swimming/Tennis Courses |
Our swimming program is sponsored in collaboration with the Red Cross.

The Arts
Art
Calling all junior artists! Join us for a journey through
time to explore a variety of art styles and the artists
behind the masterpieces. An assortment of art forms
will be used - drawing, painting, sculpting, and
mixed media.
Circus
Come join the circus! Learn to walk a tight rope, juggle,
swing on a rope, and many other fun activities. Create
your own colorful routines and experience the joy of
entertaining others. Safety is emphasized.

Dance
A kickin’ class that fuses all aspects of rhythm,
dance, movement and fun. Campers will enjoy combinations
from classical ballet, modern, tap, cardio, hip-hop,
and funk. Voyagers will keep movin’ and groovin’ through
creative movement games! Pathfinders and Trailblazers
will learn how to put together their own routines creatively,
as individuals and in groups.
Hair must be worn up and off the neck; no jewelry, please;
stud earrings acceptable. Acceptable clothing required:
tights and
leotards or comfortable dance shorts or pants with a
t-shirt (no baggy shirts). Dance shoes suitable for jazz
or ballet.
Music Montage
There are so many different elements in the world of
music! Campers will sing, play a variety of instruments,
and learn movements to many different folk songs from
America and other countries.

Music Madness
Campers will focus on the many elements of music, with
an emphasis on learning to play recorders and autoharps.
Campers will also sing songs and create original music
to play on the recorder and with other instruments.
*Pathfinders Only
Theatre Production
Put your drama in its proper place – the stage!
Want some time in the spotlight? Interested in a theatrical
production run
entirely by children? How about performing in a show
where all of the actors are kids? This exciting and educational
course will expose Campers to acting and stage production.

Enrichment
Aeronautics
Blast off with aeronautics! Discover the answers to
intriguing questions about aviation and aerospace.
Campers will
learn about rockets, space shuttles, and other forms
of flight.
*Session A Only
Building Structures
Can you construct a building from toothpicks? Campers
will combine math and science skills to design, build,
and test different kinds of architectural structures
by using K’nex and everyday items like toothpicks,
cardboard, clay, and sand.
Book Club
Travel to a different place in the Book Club! Utilizing
public and private school required reading texts, campers
will engage in discussions and hands on activities
that bring the titles to life. Through planned literacy
activities,
connections to other subject areas and interests will
be built.
Grade level text titles will be published prior to
the start of camp (check the website in May). Each
Camper
may bring their personal copy of the book club title
or borrow from the camp library.

Campers in the Kitchen
Grab an apron! Let’s eat! Measure in one cup cooking
instruction, fold in a pinch of fun, and sprinkle in
nutritional facts about the new Food Pyramid©. Blend
all ingredients together to create an edible learning
experience that will help kids make healthy food choices.
Using wholesome, creative recipes, this class promises
to be an interactive activity that incorporates measuring
skills, teamwork strategies, and proper dining etiquette.
Students will be grouped by age and will create a recipe
booklet and nutrition guide that can be used at home.
Creative Thinking
Think outside the box! Creative thinking and problem-solving
skills are developed using entertaining and thought-provoking
games and puzzles. Campers will build their analytical
skills as they learn how to devise strategies to
be successful game players and puzzle solvers.
Creative Writing
Get creative in the creative writing course! Pathfinders
will explore short stories, poetry, and other forms
of writing and learn to express thoughts, feelings
and emotions rather than to simply convey information.

Fun with Forensics
Learn to utilize physics, models, measurements, basic
genetics, and other scientific processes used by forensic
sources to solve cases. Campers will use these skills
to solve mock cases.
Robotics
Build robots and machines while learning important
areas of science, technology, engineering and math.
Campers
will work together in small groups to solve challenges
while designing, building and testing their projects.

Advanced Robotics
Campers will have the opportunity to explore more areas
of math, science, and technology. Don’t miss out!
Campers must have previously taken a Rollins Robotics
course or have previous experience with robots and machines.

Sports
Fitness
This course combines fitness and fun for girls and
boys. A variety of techniques will be used including
strength
training and cardio. Group exercise will take place
in the comfort of an air conditioned studio.
Fitness for Girls
Calling all girls! Want to increase your flexibility
and strength in a fun atmosphere? This indoor class
combines strength training and conditioning through
Pilates, yoga,
cardio kickboxing, aerobics and games. The experienced
instructor will lead her through warm-ups, challenging
exercises, and cool-downs with the purpose of leading
a safe, multi-level class for all.
Sailing & Canoeing
Sail away on beautiful Lake Virginia. Learn the fundamentals
of sailing and gain proficiency in sailing techniques.
Instruction in general boating practices and water
safety are provided. Life jackets are worn at all
times while on the lake. Campers must have basic
swimming
skills. Bring your swimsuit, sun screen, and a towel.
Campers must be at least 8 years old to participate.
Advanced Sailing & Canoeing
This program is designed for the advanced boater. Pervious
boating experience required. Bring your swim suit,
sunscreen, and a towel!
Campers must have previously taken a Rollins Sailing
course.
Swimming
Have fun in the sun (and in the pool)! This multi-level
course will introduce beginners to the basics and challenge
the advanced swimmer. Certified lifeguards and instructors
will be present at all sessions. Bring a swimsuit,
a towel, and sunscreen!
Beginner’s Swimming* (limited space)
This course emphasizes beginning swim techniques and
water safety. The class will be offered from 8:00 a.m.
to 9:00 a.m. and has a one time fee of $245 per session
per child. All ages welcome!
*Session A Only
Competitive Swimming* (limited space)
This course will emphasize various swimming techniques
for experienced swimmers. Campers will learn through
video
analysis, dry land drills, and one-on-one practices to
improve swimming strokes. The class will be offered from
8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and has a one time fee of $245
per session per child.
*Session B Only. Trailblazers & Pathfinders Only.
Team Challenge
Up for a challenge? Activities involve a series of
physical and mental challenges. Campers will support
each other
in a group setting and develop increased levels of
agility and
physical coordination.

Team Sports
Come out and play! A variety of games, such as flag
football, kickball, and other similar games will
be played. Campers
will build skills such as eye-hand/eye-foot coordination,
balance, agility, and special emphasis will be placed
on teamwork, team strategies, cooperation, sportsmanship,
self-esteem, team building, and just good fun!
Tennis
Classes are structured for the beginner, intermediate,
and advanced levels. Young athletes will learn all
the rules of the game, including court etiquette.
This course
will include instruction in forehand and backhand strokes,
serves, volley, overhead smash, and footwork. Tennis
racket required.
Beginner’s Tennis* (limited space)
This course emphasizes beginning tennis techniques.
Tennis racket required. The class will be offered
from
8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and has a one time fee of $245
per session per child. All ages welcome!
Competitive Tennis* (limited space)
Take your tennis
skills to the next level! This course will emphasize
various tennis techniques for experienced tennis players.
Campers will engage in tournament-style play. Tennis
racket required. The class will be offered from 8:00
a.m. to
9:00 a.m. and has a one time fee of $245 per session
per child.
