AUDITION REQUIREMENTS


Students may elect to perform all of the following, OR may choose between the two. 

For example , they may perform monologues without singing or sing without performing monologues.  

In all above situations, the total audition should not exceed 4 minutes.

TWO 1-minute monologues meeting the following criteria:

* ONE should be a dramatic or serio-comic piece, preferably from an American play written after 1975

* ONE should be a monologue directly from Sophocles' Antigone, preferably from any translation other than Jean Anouilh's

16-32 bars of sheet music in your key; accompanist will be provided:

* Please choose from an American musical written bewteen 1950-1970 that

DOES NOT feature pop or rock vocals

* Make sure your music is clearly marked with stopping and starting points

* Please do not plan to sing to pre-recorded music

 

Important Audition Information


Auditions are by appointment only.  A sign-up sheet

will be posted on the theatre backboard mid-August.

All callbacks will consist of readings from the scripts.

A perusal copy of Stop Kiss is currently available in the Olin Library.

Antigone and Cabaret scripts are not currently available for perusal at Olin; please continue checking this website for updates.
